Regina Barnett

Regina (or Gina, as she is called by many) has been singing since the day she was born.   She holds a BA in Biology with a minor in Vocal Performance & Theory from the University of Massachusetts–Boston, as well as credits toward a second BA in Music.  While at UMass, she was a member of the Jazz Ensemble, the Chamber Singers and Chorus.  Gina sang and soloed in many elementary school productions, and was a vocalist/guitarist in church folk groups and choirs from junior high through college and beyond.  She has been a song leader at traditional to contemporary church services, and co-Choir Director for both Catholic and Methodist services, currently at St. Andrew’s Church in Eagle River, Alaska.    She has sung with the Boston Concert Opera, performed with the South Shore Pioneers, and the Christmas Revels in Cambridge Massachusetts.  She just finished a two week run in the chorus of Jesus Christ Superstar with the Kokopelli Theater Company in Anchorage. 

Gina also studied flute in elementary and middle school, then switched to fyfe and recorder.  She was a member of the Fyfe and Drum Corps with the Weymouth, Hingham and Charlestown (Massachusetts) Militias, and is currently a member of the Winds of Time Recorder Consort that performs in the Anchorage area.

Gina’s theater background began in high school when she performed in, Peter Felichia’s Games, Jack Pepplewell’s Careful Rapture, and starred as “Ermengarde” in Thorton Wilder’s The Matchmaker.  She continued to dabble in theater in college taking classes in set design and stage management.

Gina is now a Special Education teacher in the Anchorage School District.
